Tata Motors’ best-selling car expected to get its mid-cycle refresh with improvements in styling, comfort, and safety
The facelifted Tata Punch doesn’t appear to be planned for launch this year as media reports initially suggested. However, Tata Motors is continuing to test the updated model on public roads, new spy shots have revealed.
Latest spy shots indicate that Tata Motors is designing the facelifted Punch similar to the Punch.ev. Noticeable differences are expected at the front, but with a familiar look. The Punch should continue featuring a split headlamp setup post facelift, but with a slimmer design for the daytime running light and brighter and more efficient, LED main lamps.
Spy pictures have revealed that the facelifted Punch will feature a new radiator grille with horizontal slats, which should lead to a more elegant styling. The front and rear bumpers are also expected to be new. Tata Motors will likely offer newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels and tail lamps as well. In the tail lamps, the visual revisions will likely extend beyond the cluster, with a fresh shape making the new look immediately noticeable.

The interior of the new Tata Punch should also have a number of cosmetic improvements. Spy shots have already revealed a new two-spoke steering wheel, an improvement aimed at giving the car a classier look. The new steering wheel should feature an illuminated brand logo, making the car more appealing to tech-savvy and young customers.
Another major upgrade inside could be a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a feature already available in the Punch.ev. Ventilated front seats, also borrowed from the electric derivative, should improve comfort. Tata Motors may level up safety with the introduction of a 360º camera system, blind spot monitor, and six airbags.

The new Tata Punch is unlikely to have any changes with respect to the engine or transmission. The company may offer it with the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that produces 87 hp and 115 Nm of torque and 1.2-litre Revotron bi-fuel petrol-CNG engine that develops 72 hp and 115 Nm of torque running on gas. A 5-speed manual transmission will be standard, but while Tata Motors gives a 5-speed AMT option with only the petrol engine in the current model, it may offer that even with the petrol-CNG engine in the new one.
Tata Motors may launch the new Punch sometime in early 2026 and price it from around INR 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
