Toyota Posts Nearly 34,000 Unit Sales In Jan 2026 In India

Toyota registered total volume sales of 33,880 units with a notable increase compared to the 29,371 units enabling a YoY surge of 15 per cent

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced its sales results for January 2026 as it registered total volume sales of 33,880 units. The numbers indicate a notable increase compared to the 29,371 units sold during the same month last year which resulted in a year-on-year growth of 15 per cent. The performance shows steady market growth for the brand.

The tally comes on the back of an impressive calendar year 2025. Of the total volumes recorded in January 2026, domestic sales accounted for 30,630 units while exports contributed 3,250 units. In comparison, January 2025 saw domestic dispatches of 26,178 units and exports of 3,193 units which represent a 17 per cent growth in the domestic market.

It also led to a marginal 2 percent rise in exports proving consistent performance across both channels. Toyota Kirloskar Motor operates as a joint venture with equity participation of 89 per cent held by Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan and 11 per cent by Kirloskar Systems Limited of India. TKM currently has an installed production capacity of up to 3,42,000 units annually.

Toyota Fortuner Neo Drive

The Japanese auto major employs 6,466 permanent staff and operates on a land parcel of approximately 432 acres with a built-up area of around 74,000 square metres. The company’s first manufacturing facility, located at Bidadi, was established in October 1997 with production commencing in December 1999. This plant rolls out models such as the Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner and Legender.

It has an annual installed capacity of up to 1,32,000 units. The second plant, also situated at Bidadi, began production in December 2010. It produces models including the Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Hilux, and contributes an installed capacity of up to 2,10,000 units per year. In addition to locally manufactured vehicles, Toyota retails other models such as the Glanza, Rumion and Urban Cruiser Taisor that are brought in as badge engineered products.

The brand’s premium offerings including the Vellfire and Land Cruiser 300 are imported into India as completely built units (CBUs). Speaking about the sales tally, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said,

A key highlight during January was the launch of the All-Electric URBAN CRUISER EBELLA, further strengthening our focus on delivering future-ready mobility solutions aligned with evolving customer expectations.”
