BMW F 450 GS pushes out 48 hp and 43 Nm from a 420 cc parallel-twin engine and is expected to make a big impact if aggressively priced
The official pre-bookings for the BMW F 450 GS have commenced at authorised dealerships across the country ahead of the announcement of prices on April 23, 2026. Set to consolidate its adventure portfolio in India, BMW Motorrad is preparing to roll out the all-new BMW F 450 GS which is a more manageable alternative to the larger GS models.
Built on a tubular steel chassis, the motorcycle is expected to weigh close to 178 kg which should make it far more approachable in terms of everyday usability and off-road handling. Powering the new entrant is a completely new 420 cc parallel-twin engine that develops 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. Interestingly, the motor employs a 135-degree crank configuration.
It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and supported by a standard slipper and assist clutch with an optional semi-automatic clutch system likely to be offered on select variants. From a hardware perspective, the F 450 GS is equipped with KYB-sourced suspension components including upside-down forks up front and a rear monoshock.

Top-spec variants are expected to feature adjustable suspension setups for versatility across terrains. Braking duties are handled by a combination of Brembo components at the front and ByBre units at the rear. It packs a comprehensive set of rider aids such as traction control, cornering ABS, Dynamic Brake Control and engine brake management.
Globally, BMW offers the F 450 GS in multiple trims including Basic, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy with higher variants bringing additional off-road focused equipment like hand guards, aluminium bash plates, specialised footpegs, a 6.5-inch TFT display offering Bluetooth connectivity and navigation support and upgraded suspension components.

With production underway at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility, competitive pricing could make it a strong contender in its segment. Riders will have access to multiple ride modes including Rain, Road and Enduro while the more advanced Enduro Pro mode is likely to be reserved for higher trims. The design stays true to the iconic GS styling but in a more compact and less intimidating form. It features a tall riding stance, signature beak-like front fascia and a distinctive X-shaped LED headlamp.
