The first one has already gone on sale in the form of the e-Vitara and recently, 108 units of the electric SUV were delivered to the customers in a single day at an handover ceremony in Hyderabad and it will be followed by three more models. Let’s talk in detail about the upcoming Maruti electric cars launching in India by 2031.

The highly-anticipated electric MPV is likely to launch in the last quarter of 2026 in the Indian market. It will debut ahead of the Diwali festive season later this year around Sep-Oct. Codenamed as YMC, the all-electric three-row MPV will be directly pitted against Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7 in the domestic market.
Maruti YMC will share most of the elements with the e-Vitara, including the battery pack, electric motor and platform. The e-MPV will also have a Toyota derivative which is expected to launch by early 2027 in India.
