New Gen Bajaj Pulsar N125 gets a host of revisions judging by the spy shots while mechanically it could remain unaltered

The existing Bajaj Pulsar N125 is rather unique for its styling and many consider it to be too sharp for an 125 cc motorcycle. Its design could change sooner rather than later as a brand new test mule of what appears to the new generation model has been spotted testing for the first time on public roads revealing plenty to ponder on.

Bajaj appears to be rethinking where the Pulsar N125 fits within its growing 125 cc portfolio. The latest prototype hints at a machine that could bridge the gap between the conventional Pulsar 125 range and the sportier NS 125. Compared to the outgoing model, the prototype looks less radical and more mature. The bodywork appears cleaner while several design elements have been toned down.

A full-length seat replaces the split arrangement used currently as it should improve overall comfort. Changes around the rear section also point towards improved usability as a redesigned grab handle has been added. Even the riding posture could become friendlier thanks to a revised handlebar arrangement visible.

The presence of a fully enclosed chain guard shows that Bajaj may be prioritising reduced maintenance and improved protection from dirt and road grime. The tank area appears more muscular than before while the front section seems visually slimmer due to the absence of the fork shrouds seen on the current model. The prototype uses a modern headlamp and evolved lighting setup coupled with possibly new turn indicators.

Beneath the updated bodywork, major mechanical changes are unlikely. The familiar 124.54 cc single-cylinder powerplant is expected to continue duty allowing Bajaj to retain a proven foundation. Output figures should stay in the vicinity of 12 PS and 11 Nm while a five-speed transmission is expected to remain part of the package.

Suspension duties appear to be handled by conventional front telescopic forks and a rear monoshock arrangement. The wheels and braking package could also see minor revisions as well. Connected features, smartphone pairing and a fully digital rider interface are expected as manufacturers continue to increase equipment levels in the 125 cc category.

The appearance of a near-production test mule indicates that development work may be entering the final stages. When it arrives towards the end of this year or in early 2027, the new generation Pulsar N125 is expected to firmly challenge products such as the TVS Raider 125, Hero Xtreme 125R and Honda SP 125.
