Brands like Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp, KTM and Norton will more likely introduce new premium adventure bikes within the next 12 months in India
The dual-purpose adventure segment is set for a busy schedule within the next 12 months as many manufacturers are developing new bikes across multiple price points. Buyers looking beyond the current offerings will soon have more choices. Among the upcoming launches are the Norton Atlas, KTM 490 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 and Hero Xpulse 420 – each targeting different set of riders.
1. TVS’ Norton Atlas:
The Norton Atlas will become one of the first all-new motorcycles introduced under TVS ownership and is expected to arrive in India later this year. Positioned as a premium middleweight adventure tourer, it is powered by a newly developed 585 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft, producing 69 hp at 9,300 rpm and 57.5 Nm at 7,300 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch.
The motorcycle rides on a steel perimeter frame with an aluminium swingarm, fully adjustable KYB upside-down front forks, KYB rear monoshock and 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. The Atlas also receives a premium equipment list comprising an 8-inch TFT touchscreen, ride-by-wire throttle, multiple ride modes, traction control, cornering ABS, cruise control, quickshifter, tyre pressure monitoring system, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, LED lighting, adjustable windscreen, etc and it will give rise to a touring-friendly GT variant.

2. KTM 490 Adventure:
KTM is preparing the long-awaited 490 Adventure which is expected to slot between the 390 Adventure and the 790 Adventure upon arrival globally later this year or in early 2027. The motorcycle will more likely use an all-new 490 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine kicking out around 50 hp. Spied testing in the overseas markets already, it will receive long-travel suspension, switchable ABS, traction control, ride modes, TFT instrumentation and wire-spoke wheels.
3. Royal Enfield Himalayan 750:
Royal Enfield has already begun testing the Himalayan 750, with multiple prototypes spotted. The motorcycle is expected to use the company’s new 750 cc parallel-twin engine, likely churning out around 55 hp, coupled to a six-speed gearbox. Spy images have revealed upside-down front forks, twin front disc brakes, wire-spoke wheels, a larger fuel tank and revised bodywork suited for long-distance touring. It will sit above the Himalayan 450 as Royal Enfield’s flagship adventure motorcycle.

4. Hero Xpulse 420:
Hero MotoCorp is also preparing a significantly larger Xpulse 420 which was recently caught testing in Ladakh alongside Hero’s Dakar riders. It is expected to be powered by a 421 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine making around 40-45 hp. The motorcycle will sit above the Xpulse 210 and will be equipped with USD forks, switchable dual-channel ABS, ride modes, TFT console and more. Hero is expected to unveil the flagship adventure motorcycle around EICMA 2026 before its domestic market launch.
