Tata Motors plans to grow its PV lineup to 15 nameplates by FY31 with 6 all-new models and more than 20 facelifts and refreshes part of the expansion

Tata Motors revealed an extensive product roadmap stretching to FY31 lately as it plans to increase its PV portfolio from the current nine nameplates to 15. Alongside the six additional models, the company has also confirmed that over 20 existing vehicles will receive facelifts or product updates over the coming years.

While most of the future products remain undisclosed, Tata’s investor presentation offered a glimpse of what is in store. Two unidentified silhouettes featured in the roadmap without any accompanying details. One is widely expected to become another member of the Avinya family while the other could emerge as either an SUV or a people mover.

Tata has not shared timelines, body styles or platform details for either model, leaving room for more announcements over the next few years. Rumoured products continue to attract attention as well. The Blackbird name has long been associated with a midsize SUV positioned between the Nexon and Harrier but Tata has never officially acknowledged the project.

The Scarlet is another name that has surfaced repeatedly in industry discussions largely in connection with a compact SUV. Among the vehicles already confirmed, the Avinya is a definitive highlight as Tata’s premium electric offering. Expected to enter production around the middle of 2027, the model has evolved considerably since its original concept debut.

Tata has also revised its technical direction with the production version now expected to ride on the Chery-JLR Freelander EV platform instead of the previously planned JLR EMA-derived architecture. The company is also developing a separate retail channel for Avinya models with a sportback expected to lead the range.

The Sierra EV joined the fray a few weeks ago and expanded the zero-emission range that already includes the Tiago EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, Curvv EV and Harrier EV. Tata is also expected to further consolidate it with larger family vehicles. A Safari EV has been widely reported and could arrive within the next 12 to 18 months.

Sharing technology with the Harrier EV, the three-row SUV is expected to take on rivals such as the Mahindra XEV 9S. Separately, Tata is believed to be evaluating a seven-seat electric MPV that could rival the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YMC, its Toyota sibling and the Kia Carens Clavis EV. Alongside these battery-powered vehicles, the company has indicated that petrol, diesel and alternative-fuel models will continue to be part of its future product plans.

Bajaj Confirms To Launch New 125-160 cc Pulsar Bikes Soon, Adv Coming Too?

GaadiWaadi -

Bajaj 250 cc Adventure Bike-2.jpg

Bajaj Auto has announced new motorcycles for the 125 to 160 cc segment following a record opening quarter while an dual-sport motorcycle is also expected soon

Bajaj Auto has confirmed that new motorcycles in the 125 to 160 cc category will arrive within the next two to three months as another round of product expansion is one the cards. The company revealed the plan while announcing its Q1 FY2027 financial results following a quarter that delivered record revenue and massive growth across its sports motorcycle business.

The updated Pulsar models are expected to lead the upcoming launches but Bajaj has not officially identified the motorcycles. The announcement is significant because the volume-based 125 to 160 cc category remains key to Bajaj’s domestic operations. The next generation Pulsar 125 is widely expected to be among the first motorcycles to arrive in the coming months as well.

Test mules have already been spotted on public roads with substantial mechanical and cosmetic revisions. Spy images point to a redesigned chassis coupled with a centrally mounted rear monoshock suspension replacing the existing layout while single-piece and split-seat seating configurations are also likely to enable an expansive portfolio targetting high volumes.

Feature additions are also expected across the upcoming Pulsar lineup. The new Pulsar 125 could receive LED headlamps, Bluetooth connectivity and a revised fully digital instrument cluster. Similar upgrades are expected for the refreshed Pulsar 150. Mechanical improvements are also likely for both offerings as revised engine tuning may improve low-end torque, reduce NVH levels and deliver higher fuel efficiency.

Bajaj said product interventions across the Pulsar range contributed to appreciable results in the April to June quarter. The entry-level sports motorcycle segment expanded by around 50 per cent year-on-year with the company recording additional market share during the period. It is worth noting that the overall revenue rose 37 per cent to a record Rs. 17,244 crore.

Electric scooters already account for nearly 20 per cent of Bajaj’s overall two-wheeler sales and the company expects a slew of new launches over the next few months to create entirely new market opportunities. More specifically, new variants of Chetak are highly anticipated. Development work is also progressing on a new dual-sport adventure-based motorcycle.

Camouflaged prototypes have already been spotted undergoing road tests and it could be equipped with a quarter litre engine. The Chakan-based company is also set to introduce its first-ever electric motorcycle which will appeal to export markets initially.

Range Rover GT Confirmed As Brand’s Fifth Model, Cabin Revealed For The 1st Time

GaadiWaadi -

Range-Rover-GT.jpg

Range Rover has previewed the GT ahead of its debut as it has confirmed an all-electric powertrain, EMA platform, new interior and final stages of global testing

Range Rover has officially confirmed the Range Rover GT by announcing it as the fifth member of its model lineup while revealing the cabin for the first time. The new grand tourer is currently undergoing final validation across global test locations ahead of its full debut later this calendar year. It will also become the first all-electric Range Rover based on the company’s new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform.

Prototype vehicles continue to wear camouflage but the new images provide a better look at the overall proportions. The GT adopts a low-slung roofline with coupe-inspired styling – differentiating it from the existing Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar and Evoque. The camouflage carries a gold topographic pattern developed around the landscape near Gaydon where the company’s design and engineering teams are based.

The first official look at the interior shows a dashboard that follows a minimalist layout with a single central touchscreen replacing the dual-screen arrangement seen in several current Jaguar Land Rover products. A separate digital driver display sits ahead of the steering wheel while a concealed full-width air vent stretches across the dashboard.

Range-Rover-GT-1.jpg

The company has also integrated the audio speakers within a woven textile panel that runs across the fascia – reducing the number of visible components inside the cabin. The cabin has been developed with a greater emphasis on simplicity and reduced visual clutter. Physical elements have been minimised and several vehicle functions have been moved into the infotainment system.

Range Rover says the new layout also improves conversational access to controls while lowering both visual and acoustic distractions. The GT will also offer the longest second-row legroom of any model in its segment. It will initially be available only as a battery electric vehicle and will be manufactured alongside internal combustion engine and hybrid models at the Halewood production facility in the United Kingdom.

Range-Rover-GT-Interior.jpg

The company has also confirmed that the EMA platform has been developed with sufficient flexibility to accommodate a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) derivative later in the model’s lifecycle. Range Rover says the GT has been developed as a long-distance grand tourer while retaining the off-road capability associated with the brand.

The company claims the new architecture has enabled a more car-like driving character without compromising the versatility expected from a Range Rover. Final engineering work currently includes global road testing before production begins. Additional technical specifications, battery details, driving range, performance and market availability have not yet been disclosed.

Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled the 2027 GLS 680 by introducing a series of updates covering exterior styling, interior, technology and mechanical hardware. The luxury SUV will arrive at US dealerships later in 2026 while continuing to be assembled at the company’s production facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The front fascia receives the biggest visual revision. A redesigned Maybach-specific radiator grille now features an illuminated surround while the MAYBACH lettering inside the grille is illuminated for the first time. Mercedes-Maybach has also introduced an optional illuminated standing three-pointed star on the bonnet. The headlamps gain Rose Gold detailing while the front bumper, chrome lower trim and grille inserts have also been revised.

At the rear, redesigned LED tail lamps incorporate three-dimensional star graphics connected by a new trim element stretching across the tailgate. Mercedes-Maybach has expanded the list of exterior colours with Dark Petrol, Manufaktur Patagonia Red Metallic and a new Dark Petrol/Verde Silver Metallic two-tone finish. The SUV also receives a new standard 22-inch alloy wheel while the optional 23-inch forged wheels feature a centre star that remains upright through a ball-bearing mechanism as the wheels rotate.

The cabin gains several revisions too as Beech Brown/Macchiato Beige Exclusive Nappa leather, Natural Grain Brown Walnut wood trim and a High-Gloss Silver Metallic mixed-fabric finish. The front seats receive a vibration massage programme integrated into the seat cushions while the rear Executive Seats add calf-rest massage for the first time. The Burmester 3D Surround Sound System has been upgraded with two additional rear speakers and a more powerful 710-watt amplifier.

Mercedes-Maybach has also improved cabin insulation via changes to the engine compartment, transmission tunnel and bodyshell. A new electric cabin air filtration system has been introduced as standard and is made to renew the interior air every 90 seconds. Power comes from an updated 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

Output rises to 603 hp and 850 Nm with a gain of 53 hp and 121 Nm over its predecessor. The integrated starter generator can provide an additional 23 hp during acceleration while also supporting coasting, energy recuperation and the automatic start-stop function. Mercedes-Maybach has revised the steering system with a quicker ratio for better response.

The standard air suspension now gets predictive damper control through cloud-based road data while the optional E-Active Body Control continuously adjusts suspension forces and can lean the SUV by up to three degrees while cornering to reduce lateral movement inside the cabin. The latest Mercedes-Benz Operating System is the foundation for the updated infotainment package.

GaadiWaadi -

chery-icar-v23-india-mg.jpg

JSW Motors is gearing up to enter the Indian market with a diverse portfolio of SUVs, including plug-in hybrids, electric vehicles and premium three-row models

JSW Motors is preparing to make its entry into India’s passenger vehicle market as a single entity. They have a rather ambitious product strategy. The company plans to launch around 15 vehicles over the next four years, with the first products expected to arrive around the festive season this year. While there is still plenty that remains unknown, five upcoming models have already emerged as strong possibilities for the Indian market.

1. Jetour T2 Plug-In Hybrid

Jetour T2 (1)

The Jetour T2 is expected to become JSW Motors’ first product in India. The SUV has already been spotted testing here and could arrive in its plug-in hybrid form. It gets a bold, boxy design and a strong road presence, while the i-DM powertrain combines a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with two electric motors and a 26.7 kWh battery pack. The combined output is expected to be around 375 bhp and 610 Nm, with an electric-only range of approximately 100 km.

The Jaecoo J5 is expected to compete in the electric mid-size SUV segment against models such as the Hyundai Creta Electric. It gets a modern design, a feature-rich cabin and a 60.9 kWh battery pack. The front-mounted electric motor produces around 210 bhp and 288 Nm, while the claimed range is expected to be approximately 460 km.

3. Chery Tiggo 8

Chery Tiggo 8

The Tiggo 8 could become JSW’s answer to the Mahindra XUV 7XO. The 4.7-metre-long SUV offers three rows of seating and a premium cabin with features such as a large touchscreen, ventilated seats, a 540-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS. Internationally, it is available with petrol and hybrid powertrains, along with an intelligent all-wheel-drive system.

4. Chery iCaur V23

chery-icar-v23-india-mg.-1.jpg

The iCaur V23 will target buyers looking for a rugged and distinctive electric SUV. Its boxy styling draws inspiration from traditional off-roaders, while the cabin is expected to pack plenty of modern technology. Internationally, the V23 is offered with two battery options, with the larger 81.76 kWh pack offering a claimed range of around 510 km. An AWD version produces 211 bhp and 292 Nm, making it more than just a lifestyle accessory.

5. Chery Exlantix ET

At the premium end of the portfolio, JSW is reportedly evaluating the Exlantix ET. The luxury electric SUV is available with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, along with battery options ranging from 66 kWh to 97.6 kWh. If launched, it could give JSW a strong entry into the premium EV space.

Chery Exlantix ET

The list is rather impressive and we would wait and watch how the brand executes the launches in the coming months. The products that JSW intends to bring are already sold in the global markets. The question remains though. How will the Indian market react to Chinese origin cars being sold under an Indian brand name.
