All-New Tata Sierra To Be Available In ICE & EV Guises This Fiscal

Tata Sierra will make a return to the Indian market in a brand new avatar before the end of this financial year

Tata Motors debuted the final production form of the Sierra at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 earlier this year in New Delhi. Set to arrive in showrooms before the financial year concludes, the SUV will first be introduced in an internal combustion version followed later by a fully electric model or vice versa. Visually, the Sierra holds on to the key design elements from the earlier EV concept, maintaining its familiar exterior character.

The homegrown manufacturer is preparing to consolidate its electric vehicle portfolio, beginning with the market entry of the Harrier EV in early June. The Harrier EV will arrive ahead of the Sierra’s internal combustion version which is expected to be launched before the end of this calendar year. Following its debut, the Sierra EV will more likely arrive soon completing the lineup expansion.

Underneath, the Tata Sierra ICE is expected to house a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine as well as a 2.0-litre diesel unit. The former will produce 168 PS and 280 Nm while the latter will kick out 170 PS and 350 Nm. The transmission options will include a six-speed MT, a six-speed AT and a seven-speed DCT.

Once the electric version enters the lineup, it is expected to feature dual battery pack options, possibly offering a claimed driving range of more than 500 kilometres. Additional technologies such as DC fast charging, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functionalities are also likely to be part of the package.

The overall design of the 2026 Tata Sierra is heavily inspired by the original model. One of its standout elements is the blacked-out roof merging into a panoramic sunroof, creating a flowing glass canopy that lends the illusion of a floating roof. The bodywork features sharp lines, prominent haunches and a sculpted profile that reinforces its modern and muscular stance.

It will be packed with high-end features such as a large touchscreen display, digital cluster, Level 2 ADAS and more.
