Official bookings for the new Kia Carens Clavis have been commenced nationwide. The carmaker has confirmed that buyers can pre-book the vehicle by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000 at Kia dealerships or online via Kia’s official website. It’s important to note that the Carens Clavis is a more premium version of the Carens (pre-facelift), not its replacement. Both models will be sold simultaneously. While the official launch date is yet to be announced, the MPV is mostly likely to go on sale in early weeks of June, 2025.

What does the new Kia Carens Clavis offer over the regular Carens? Well, plenty of features! Kia has offered with this premium MPV with a larger 12.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, as a dual screen setup. The infotainment unit supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Features such as electronic parking brake, a 360 degree camera, a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) are also exclusive to the Carens Clavis.
The overall styling has also been revised. The Carens Clavis derives some of its design elements from the EV5 such as the three-pod LED headlamps with triangular housing and LED DRLs. Both the front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned. The MPV features sliver skid plates along with the newly-designed LED taillamps connected via an illuminated light bar. However, the major design highlight of the Kia Clavis are the larger 17-inch alloy wheels.
Kia Carens Clavis Engine-Gearbox Combos:
The new Kia Clavis comes with the same engine setup, available with the Carens (pre-facelift). The 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, with a 6-speed manual and iVT gearboxes, offers a maximum power of 115bhp and 144Nm of torque. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine comes with three gearbox options – a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. It generates a maximum power of 160bhp and 253Nm of torque. The 1.5L diesel engine, with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission, returns a claimed power of 116hbp and 250Nm of torque.
