Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra and Renault are preparing to introduce new SUVs over the next few weeks in India and here we have explained them
Sticking by the latest market trend, some of India’s top automakers are bracing to bring in new models within the next couple of months to carry an early mover advantage heading into 2026. Here we have explained them:
1&2. Tata Sierra ICE & EV:

The Sierra is making a comeback today in its ICE form as it will be launched in the midsize SUV space, positioned above the Curvv. It will come with a 1.5L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine while the electric version, set to launch early next year, will be equipped with two battery packs. The larger one could be borrowed from the Harrier EV.
3&4. Tata Harrier Petrol & Safari Petrol:

Tata shows no signs of stopping as it will launch the petrol version of the Harrier and Safari next month. The new 1.5L GDI petrol engine makes its debut in the Sierra and it will be available only in turbo petrol guise in the Harrier and Safari producing 168 PS maximum power and 280 Nm of peak torque.
5. New-Gen Renault Duster:
On January 26, 2026 Renault India will introduce the all-new Duster in India and it will sit on the heavily localised version of the CMF-B platform. Expected to feature two petrol engines initially, it will mirror the global-spec model in terms of design, interior and overall appeal.
6. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

The e Vitara will become Maruti Suzuki’s first zero-emission model upon launch next month and it will be sold with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options with the range going over 500 km between charges. Its production has already commenced for international markets in Gujarat.
7. Mahindra XEV 9S:

In a couple of days, Mahindra will launch the XEV 9S, its first all-electric three-row offering based on the INGLO skateboard platform in a similar fashion to the XEV 9e and BE 6 and it will share battery packs with them. The design will be heavily influenced by the XUV.e8 concept unveiled a few years ago.
8. Mahindra XUV 7XO:
The facelifted version of the XUV 700 could be dubbed the XUV 7XO and it will go on sale in January 2026. It will get subtle exterior revisions but the cabin will be thoroughly updated with the inclusion of a new centre console and dashboard along with a triple screen setup. But, no mechanical changes are likely.
