New Tata Sierra will be launched in its ICE guise tomorrow and it will receive a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine

Tata Motors is set to officially bring back the Sierra nameplate tomorrow as the return of one of its most recognisable badges in a thoroughly modern form has been eagerly awaited. The new Sierra has been positioned in the midsize SUV segment and it made its debut less than couple of weeks ago. It will sit above the Nexon and alongside the Curvv with prices likely ranging between Rs. 11 lakh and Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Powertrain options will include a new 1.5-litre petrol engine offered in naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. The turbo unit is expected to deliver 168 PS and 280 Nm while the familiar 1.5-litre diesel produces 120 PS and 260 Nm. Tata is expected to offer multiple transmission choices as both manual and automatic buyers will be targetted.

On the inside, the highlight is a triple-screen dashboard setup. It consists of a digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen infotainment system and a dedicated display for the front passenger. The premium cabin also boasts a JBL audio system featuring a dashboard-mounted soundbar with Dolby Atmos support.

The new Tata Sierra scores big on everyday usability too. Extendable sun visors allow better coverage against low-angle sunlight while there is also an extendable under-thigh support. The powered tailgate gets auxiliary lights that stay on when the boot is open as it helps improve visibility during night use and similar lights can also be found on the doors when opened.

The 2026 Tata Sierra comes with a large panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and a floating centre console. Boot space is estimated at around 450 litres while the long wheelbase should translate into ample legroom for rear passengers. Safety and driver assistance are covered through a 360-degree camera and a Level 2 ADAS suite.

Terrain modes will also be offered depending on the variant. The exterior is a throwback to the original Sierra but it is not devoid of modern elements as the sporty alloy wheels, premium detailing, prominent lighting signatures and light bars along with an expressive silhouette add to its appeal. It will take on heavyweights in the midsize space including Hyundai Creta and Mahindra Scorpio N.
