Brands like Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra, Kia, Renault and Nissan will bring in new midsize SUVs over the next 2 to 3 months in India
The midsize and 4.3-4.6 m SUV segment will witness the arrival of at least eight new models over the next two to three months in India from manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra, Kia, Renault and Nissan. Here we have explained them:
1. Tata Sierra EV:

The Sierra has made a comeback in its ICE form with a starting price of Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and in a single day, its bookings crossed the 70,000 market. As part of expanding the range, its electric variant is set to launch in early 2026 and will feature two battery packs. The larger one could be borrowed from the Harrier EV. Its claimed range could be over 500 km between charges.
2&3. Tata Harrier Petrol & Safari Petrol:

Tata will continue its aggressive product strategy with the launch of the petrol-powered versions of the Harrier and Safari in the coming weeks. Both SUVs will be powered by the new 1.5-litre four-cylinder GDI turbo petrol engine that first appeared in the Sierra delivering 168 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. In Sierra, it is paired only with a six-speed AT.
4. New Renault Duster & Nissan Tekton:
Renault is all set to introduce the next generation Duster on January 26, 2026 in the domestic market. The SUV will be underpinned by a highly localised CMF-B architecture and is expected to debut with two petrol engine options. In terms of styling, cabin layout and overall positioning, the India-spec Duster will closely follow the international version. Its Nissan sibling, the Tekton, has been confirmed to launch in February.
6. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

The upcoming e Vitara will herald Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the zero-emission space when it goes on sale next month. It will be offered with two battery packs – 49 kWh and 61 kWh – delivering an ARAI claimed driving range of 543 km on a single charge. Underpinned by Heartect-e platform, it is rated five stars in Bharat NCAP crash tests.
7. New Kia Seltos:

The second-gen Kia Seltos was unveiled a few days ago and it gets a host of visual updates reminiscing the global Telluride flagship SUV. It gets a revamped interior too along with the addition of a new steering wheel and more upmarket surface materials. It continues with the 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options. Its prices will be out on January 2, 2026.
8. Mahindra XUV 7XO:

Mahindra has rechristened the updated XUV700 as the XUV 7XO with its market launch slated for next month. Bookings for the SUV have already opened across India ahead of the rollout. The facelift brings visible changes to the exterior while the interior adopts a triple-screen layout along with multiple features carried over from the recently introduced XEV 9S.
