Electric car dispatches rose 26.4 per cent month on month in June 2026 with Tata, Mahindra and MG holding the top three spots in India

Tata Motors led the electric car dispatch chart in June 2026 with a domestic tally of 14,657 units – up from 10,377 units in May 2026. The brand added 4,280 units on a month-on-month basis and posted 41.2 per cent growth – putting it far ahead of every other carmaker in the table courtesy of the good reception for Punch EV and Nexon EV.

The Tiago EV has also been a decent seller for the brand and the addition of the Sierra EV has only helped consolidate its market positioning and its impact will be seen in the coming months. It uses two battery options with a real-world driving range of up to 530 km. Mahindra finished second with 7,603 units in June 2026 against 7,031 units in the previous month.

The company gained 572 units and registered 8.1 per cent growth – the smallest positive gain among the top four OEMs but enough to retain a big margin over MG. JSW MG Motor took third place with 5,971 units when compared to 4,463 units in May 2026. Its tally rose by 1,508 units which resulted in 33.8 per cent month-on-month growth.
