Toyota Kirloskar Motor recorded steady growth in July, while its year-to-date sales climbed 13 per cent compared to the same period last year

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) recorded 32,516 units in total sales in July 2026, continuing its steady run in the Indian market. Domestic sales stood at 30,516 units, up 5 per cent compared to the 29,159 units sold during the same month last year. The company says the performance reflects sustained customer confidence in the Toyota brand.

The growth may not look dramatic on paper, but Toyota has managed to maintain positive momentum across the year. Between January and July 2026, the company sold 2,33,854 units, compared to 2,07,497 units during the corresponding period of 2025. This translates to a 13 per cent year-on-year growth over the first seven months of the calendar year.

Toyota has also registered growth during the ongoing financial year. Between April and July 2026, the company recorded 1,28,746 units compared to 1,19,669 units during the same period last year. The numbers represent an 8 per cent increase in the first four months of FY2026-27. So while July itself delivered modest growth, the larger picture remains positive for Toyota.

A key highlight for Toyota during the month was the launch of the all-new Hilux. The lifestyle pickup truck strengthens the company’s SUV portfolio and brings a fresh option to a niche but growing segment. Toyota says the new Hilux is part of its broader focus on offering aspirational and future-ready mobility solutions to Indian customers.

The company’s domestic line-up continues to cover a fairly wide range of segments. Models manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi facilities include the Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, Legender, Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Hilux. The company also sells the Glanza, Rumion and Urban Cruiser Taisor, while premium models such as the Vellfire and Land Cruiser 300 continue to arrive in India as completely built-up imports.

Toyota’s manufacturing footprint in India is also sizeable. Its two plants at Bidadi have a combined installed production capacity of up to 3,42,000 units annually. The first plant has a capacity of up to 1,32,000 units, while the second can produce up to 2,10,000 units. This gives Toyota enough headroom to support its expanding portfolio as demand continues to grow.

For Toyota, July was therefore less about a spectacular spike in sales and more about maintaining consistency. A 5 per cent annual increase in domestic sales, 13 per cent calendar-year growth and 8 per cent financial-year growth show that the company continues to move in the right direction. With the new Hilux now joining the line-up, Toyota has added another interesting product to what is already a fairly diverse portfolio.
