Maruti Suzuki Records 24 Lakh+ Sales In FY26, 7 New SUVs Arriving In Next 5 Years

GaadiWaadi -

Maruti-Suzuki-Fronx-ADAS.jpg

Record exports, product expansion, capacity additions and a multi-powertrain strategy are the foundation of Maruti Suzuki’s next stage of growth in India

Maruti Suzuki India recorded its highest ever annual sales of 24.22 lakh vehicles in FY2025-26 which was accompanied by record exports of 4.47 lakh units. The company has crossed the 20 lakh annual sales milestone for the third consecutive year and believes it can reach its next million vehicles sooner than previously expected through a new framework across multiple disciplines.

The figures are the centrepiece of Maruti Suzuki’s Annual Integrated Report 2025-26, titled ‘The Next Million, New Momentum’. The report attributes the company’s current trajectory to several factors including the recovery of the small car segment, an expanding SUV portfolio, multiple powertrain technologies, higher manufacturing capacity and export growth which has been one of the main highlights.

Maruti Suzuki Chairman R. C. Bhargava expects the Indian passenger vehicle market to reach 61 to 63 lakh units by FY2030-31 with MSIL playing a massive role in it. He also predicts small cars to grow at a faster rate over the next five years than they did during the preceding half a decade period. The company is preparing for this expected expansion through additional manufacturing capacity.

Maruti Suzuki added 5 lakh units of annual production capacity during FY2026-27 while its product strategy will also see a substantial increase in SUVs. The Brezza facelift arrived recently while the inclusion of the Fronx compact SUV coupe and Victoris midsize SUV have been instrumental in expanding its volumes in the SUV space. The brand is now planning for seven new SUVs over the next five to six years.

As we already know, an electric MPV codenamed YMC is currently under development. The forthcoming products will be part of the company’s effort to expand its presence in one of the fastest growing parts of the country’s PV market. It is also pursuing a multi-powertrain strategy as India moves towards lower-emission mobility. Alongside petrol, CNG, hybrid, and electric technologies, Maruti Suzuki is exploring biogas as another source of automotive fuel.

Maruti Suzuki’s board has approved the first stage of a biogas programme involving four plants at an investment of Rs. 561 crore. The company intends to develop these facilities using locally available resources and assess the technology before considering further investment. The biogas programme will provide a renewable fuel source while reducing reliance on imported CNG.

RE Motoverse 2026 Dates Announced: Himalayan 750, Interceptor 750 And More Expected

GaadiWaadi -

RE Himalayan 750

Royal Enfield’s annual motorcycle festival returns in November, and this year’s event could see some major new-bike reveals

Royal Enfield has announced the dates for Motoverse 2026, and if you’re a fan of the brand, this is one event worth keeping an eye on. The annual gathering brings together Royal Enfield owners, enthusiasts and the company’s latest motorcycles, but it has also become an important launch platform for new products. This year’s event is expected to take place in Goa in November.

The biggest reason for the excitement this year is the number of motorcycles Royal Enfield currently has in development. The company is expected to showcase or reveal some of its upcoming larger-capacity motorcycles at Motoverse, with the Himalayan 750 and Interceptor 750 among the most anticipated names.

The Himalayan 750 is expected to become Royal Enfield’s largest adventure motorcycle yet. Test mules have already been spotted, and the motorcycle is expected to use a new 750 cc parallel-twin engine. The bigger Himalayan is likely to sit above the existing Himalayan 450 and take on motorcycles such as the BMW F 900 GS and Triumph Tiger 900. Expect a more substantial chassis, larger brakes and premium suspension hardware, although exact specifications have not yet been confirmed.

The Interceptor 750 could be another important addition to the company’s twin-cylinder range. It is expected to use the same new-generation 750 cc platform, but with a more road-focused character. The motorcycle should retain the basic recipe that made the Interceptor 650 popular with a relatively simple styling, an upright riding position and a relaxed parallel-twin engine, but with more performance. It could eventually sit above the existing 650 cc motorcycles and compete with the growing number of middleweight roadsters.

More Motorcycles Could Be Revealed

The Himalayan 750 and Interceptor 750 aren’t the only Royal Enfield motorcycles expected in the coming months. The company is also working on products such as the Continental GT 750. At the same time, the Scram 450 and new electric motorcycles under the Flying Flea brand are also part of its expanding portfolio.

Royal Enfield has been steadily moving upmarket, and the arrival of a 750 cc engine would be another significant step in that direction. The company already has a strong presence in the 350 cc and 650 cc segments, so the new platform could help it challenge more premium international motorcycles without abandoning the character that has worked so well for the brand.
