The midsize electric SUV space will see plenty of action soon in India and here we have explained about the models that will arrive with over 500 km range
Each of the four upcoming models aims to land in the heart of the midsize segment where the stakes are high and expectations even higher. While Maruti Suzuki is counting on the eVX, Mahindra is lining up the XUV.e8-derived XEV 7e and two upcoming EVs from Tata have also been covered here:
1. Mahindra XEV 7e:
A set of leaked images earlier this year revealed the Mahindra XEV 7e in near-production guise indicating styling influences from the XUV.e8 concept and the familiar lines of the XUV700. It appears to be underpinned by Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard platform and is expected to feature battery configurations similar to those found in the XEV 9e and BE 6. A range of over 500 km on a full charge is likely.
2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the electric vehicle space will be led by the eVX, slated to hit showrooms around September 2025. Designed from the ground up as a born-EV, the midsize SUV sits on the dedicated Heartect e platform and will be retailed via Nexa outlets nationwide. Two battery packs are on the cards and the larger variant will offer over 500 kilometres of claimed range between charges.

3. Tata Harrier EV:
Tata is gearing up to introduce the Harrier EV on June 3. The electric SUV has also been confirmed to have a driving range in excess of 500 kilometres on a single charge. While the official technical sheet is yet to be disclosed, early details point to a dual-motor configuration with power units mounted on both axles to support an all-wheel-drive layout.

It is expected to generate peak torque close to 500 Nm, hinting at promising on-road performance within its class. Power will likely come from a 75 kWh lithium-ion battery pack feeding a dual-motor layout, enabling power delivery to all four wheels in select variant. A second, more accessible variant is also said to be in the works, featuring a smaller battery to keep pricing competitive.

4. Tata Sierra EV:
Tata pulled the covers off the all-new Sierra at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The SUV is scheduled to arrive in showrooms before the financial year wraps up and it will be available in both petrol/diesel and electric formats. On the design front, the final version sticks closely to the concept showcased earlier, preserving several distinctive elements that nod to the classic Sierra from decades ago.
