The electric two-wheeler industry in the Indian automobile industry is evolving at a rapid pace with new models launching every now and then. In particular, the e-scooter segment has seen unprecedented growth in the last few years. The leading auto brands such as Hero, Bajaj and TVS have presence in this segment with their electric scooters. However, these companies are now looking to tap the buyers in the sub Rs 1 lakh segment where Ola Electric has considerable popularity. In this piece, we will talk about the upcoming electric scooters in India under Rs 1 lakh.

1. Hero Vida VX2

Hero MotoCorp has announced the launch of an affordable electric scooter on July 1, 2025 in the Indian market. Being christened as Vida VX2, it has been spotted undisguised ahead of the official debut, revealing several details. It is the rebadged version of the Vida Z which was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi.

Hero Vida VX2

Hero Vida VX2 will be available in three variants namely VX2 Lite, VX2 Plus and VX2 Pro. It will miss out on certain premium features that we have seen in the Vida V2 due to cost cutting and keeping the price aggressive. The battery pack and electric motor will be shared with the V2 and all the variants of both these electric scooters are likely to have identical range. The VX2 price could start as low as Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara 1

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be launched around September 2025 and it will boast a range of over 500 km per charge

The e Vitara from Maruti Suzuki, first revealed at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, is inching closer to its commercial rollout. Created around the purpose-built Heartect e skateboard architecture, the midsize SUV integrates over half its structure using high-tensile steel, bringing together crash safety and structural strength in a single package.

Although the international-spec version is tipped to feature an all-wheel-drive system, the Indian-market model is expected to stick with a front-wheel-drive configuration only.
