Mercedes-Benz Opens First Studio In Delhi-NCR, Gurugram

Mercedes-Benz Studio

Mercedes-Benz has opened its first Mercedes-Benz Studio in India, with the new facility located at DLF One Horizon Centre in Gurugram. The Studio is positioned as a customer-focused space that brings together the brand’s vehicles, design elements and lifestyle offerings under one roof.

Unlike a conventional dealership, the Studio is designed around brand engagement and product exploration. Visitors can view vehicles while also accessing a design and material library showcasing various finishes and customisation possibilities.

The facility also features the Mercedes-Benz lifestyle collection, Mercedes-AMG X adidas merchandise and a Lavonne Café. Mercedes-Benz says similar Studio-format locations are already present in more than 14 countries across four continents.

The first vehicle displayed at the new Gurugram facility is the Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept. The four-door electric performance car is finished in Sunset Beam Orange and provides a preview of Mercedes-AMG’s approach to future high-performance EVs.

The concept uses the company’s AMG Electric Architecture (AMG.EA) and an 800V electrical system. Its powertrain comprises three axial-flux electric motors, producing a combined 1341 HP.

Mercedes-AMG also claims the GT XX can accept charging at up to 850kW. Under suitable conditions, the company says this allows approximately 400km of additional range to be added in around five minutes.

The opening of the Studio gives Mercedes-Benz another format through which to engage customers in the Delhi-NCR market, while the GT XX Concept provides the headline display at the new location.

3 New Mahindra SUVs Launching Soon In India

GaadiWaadi -

Mahindra Vision S (13)

Mahindra is preparing a fresh wave of SUVs across petrol, diesel and electric segments, with the Thar facelift expected soon and the BE 07 and Vision S following in 2027

Mahindra is not slowing down its SUV offensive. After a busy 2026 that has already brought products and updates across the portfolio, the company has three more SUVs lined up that could further strengthen its position in the Indian market. These include the Thar 3-door facelift, BE 07 and Vision S. However, their timelines are quite different, with the Thar expected to arrive first, while the BE 07 and Vision S are headed towards production in the longer term.

1. Mahindra Thar Facelift

The Thar 3-door facelift is the closest of the three to reaching showrooms. Recent test mules indicate a more comprehensive update than the minor revision introduced in 2025. The biggest changes are expected at the front, including a redesigned grille, new LED headlamps and styling cues inspired by the larger Thar Roxx. New alloy wheels are also expected.

The mechanical package is likely to remain largely unchanged, although reports suggest Mahindra could introduce electric power steering. The current Thar continues with petrol and diesel engine options, along with manual and automatic transmissions and both RWD and 4WD configurations. A launch timeline has not been officially confirmed, although recent reports point towards the coming months.

2. Mahindra BE 07

Mahindra BE07

The BE 07 will be a considerably bigger and more premium proposition. Mahindra’s original plan positioned it for an October 2026 launch, but the company subsequently confirmed that its next electric SUV would arrive only in 2027. The production BE 07 is expected to measure around 4.6 metres and sit above the BE 6 in Mahindra’s electric SUV portfolio. It will use the INGLO platform, with the production version expected to retain the futuristic design language of the concept while offering a more practical cabin. It is likely to compete with electric SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV and VinFast VF7.

3. Mahindra Vision S

The Vision S is arguably the most interesting of the three because it will take Mahindra into another important segment. The production SUV is expected to sit above the XUV 3XO and is likely to become a compact SUV rival to models such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet. It previews Mahindra’s new NU_IQ modular platform, which has been engineered to accommodate multiple powertrains, including ICE, hybrid and electric setups. Mahindra says NU_IQ-based SUVs will begin entering production from 2027, although the final powertrain and specifications of the Vision S have not yet been confirmed.

Mahindra Vision S (11)

The three SUVs also highlight how broad Mahindra’s strategy has become. The Thar continues to strengthen the brand’s lifestyle and off-road image, the BE 07 expands its electric-origin SUV portfolio, while the Vision S could bring Mahindra’s newer design and technology philosophy into a much higher-volume compact SUV segment. With the company already targeting continued SUV growth, these three products could become important pieces of Mahindra’s next phase.

Tata Curvv Series X (4)

The Curvv Series X is therefore less about introducing an entirely new SUV and more about making the Curvv proposition broader and more accessible. With the Rs. 9.99 lakh starting price, multiple powertrains and a long list of features spread across the range, Tata is clearly looking to put its SUV coupe in front of a much larger pool of buyers. And considering how much attention the Curvv’s design has already attracted, making the entry point more affordable could be exactly what the model needs.

Nissan Tekton Exports Begin From India With First 1300 Units

Nissan Tekton Export

Nissan has started exporting the new Tekton SUV from India, with the first batch of more than 1300 units dispatched to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal on September 1, 2026. These markets form the first phase of the SUV’s planned international expansion, with Nissan expected to add more export destinations as production increases.

The Tekton is being manufactured in India and is part of Nissan’s broader strategy to use the country as both a domestic market and an export base. The company says the SUV will progressively be introduced in other international markets, although it has not specified the next destinations or timelines.

Nissan’s domestic volumes rise sharply in August

Nissan Motor India recorded domestic wholesale dispatches of 3426 units in August 2026, representing a 147 percent year-on-year increase compared with the same month last year. The company attributed the rise to demand for its existing SUV range, along with the introduction of the Tekton.

However, the improvement in domestic volumes was accompanied by a decline in exports. Nissan shipped 5924 units to international markets in August, down 23.7 percent from 7,769 units during the corresponding period last year.

As a result, the company’s overall wholesale dispatches increased only marginally, reaching 9350 units in August compared with 9153 units a year earlier.

Tekton to expand Nissan’s export footprint

The start of Tekton exports gives Nissan another model with which to build its presence in overseas markets from India. The company says the SUV will gradually be introduced across additional regions as production is scaled up.

The Tekton is positioned as an SUV combining Nissan’s design approach with technology, performance and everyday practicality. Its export programme also comes as Nissan looks to broaden its product portfolio in India and increase the utilisation of its local manufacturing and export operations.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, said the initial response to the Tekton has supported the company’s domestic wholesale performance, while exports continue to remain an important part of its India operations.

For now, South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal are the first confirmed international destinations for the Tekton, with further markets expected to be announced as Nissan expands the model’s overseas rollout.
